Lean on me

I like the way these gelatine and agar shapes stack, like a game. Or like Scottish Cairns (stone stacks) used to indicate when fresh water is near by. I actually prefer these objects in assemblage, the rubbery texture means they grip slightly and theres a satisfaction and mindfulness in creating a balance, which might at any moment fall. Although I’m unclear on the details of my final design, I feel that it will be an assemblage of mono-material objects that have a relationship to each other. I am testing materials therefore so that each ‘object’ is a single material, and the way they relate or are attached to each other is able to be easily taken apart for recycling. Im excited to explore the different ways each material and object lends itself to attaching to another - maybe hooks? maybe notches or joins? and how this might induce playful, calm.
